Frequently Asked Questions
Weight Loss Care
How much weight can I expect to lose with GLP-1 medications?
Everyone responds a little differently, but one medical study with over 1,900 participants found that patients lost an average of 15% of their body weight over 68 weeks. About one in three participants lost more than 20%.
Do you prescribe FDA-approved medications?
Yes. When treating obesity, we start with FDA-approved options like Wegovy or Zepbound. In some cases—such as when a specific dose or formulation is needed—we may recommend compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide. These aren’t FDA-approved but are prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies that follow strict safety regulations.
Which medication works better: semaglutide or tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide has shown greater average weight loss in clinical studies, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best option for everyone. Your provider will help determine what’s right for you.
What are the most common side effects of GLP-1 medications?
Some patients experience nausea, constipation, bloating, or mild stomach discomfort—especially with the first few doses. Many people don’t experience any side effects at all.
How will I receive my medication?
If you’re using a commercial pharmacy for Wegovy or Zepbound, we’ll send your prescription there. If you’re using a compounded medication, it will be shipped directly to your home with all necessary supplies.
What is your refund policy?
We’re not able to offer refunds for services or prescriptions. Once medication is dispensed, it can’t be returned, per FDA regulations.
Hormone Replacement Therapy
Do you prescribe bioidentical hormones?
Yes. We use FDA-approved bioidentical hormones like micronized progesterone and estradiol, which are structurally identical to the hormones your body produces.
Do you offer hormone pellets?
No—we don’t prescribe or administer hormone pellets at this time.
Do you prescribe testosterone?
Yes, when appropriate. Testosterone may be prescribed for women with hyposexual desire disorder. Your provider will discuss this with you during your visit if it’s a good fit.
Is hormone therapy expensive?
Most insurance plans cover the medications we prescribe. We’ll start with your insurance plan and make dose adjustments as needed. If a specific dose isn’t available commercially, we’ll use an affordable compounded option.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. If you’re on a monthly plan for weight loss or hormone support, you can cancel with a simple 30-day notice via text or phone call.
General
Do you accept insurance?
Not yet—but we’re working on it. We’re in the process of enrolling with major insurance providers for urgent care and hospital follow-up visits. In the meantime, we’ll provide a superbill you can submit to your plan for possible reimbursement.
Where do you provide care?
We’re licensed in Arizona and North Carolina, and offer all services via secure telehealth.
What happens after I schedule my visit?
You’ll receive an intake form by email. On the day of your visit, we’ll send a video link about 30 minutes beforehand. All you need is a quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
